If you are visiting Jakarta for vacation or work, it is important you stay informed with the recent immigration law, as some things have changed in our post Covid world and that includes the visa application process.
Prior to the covid pandemic, many nationalities could enter Indonesia using a free visit visa, but during the covid pandemic, the free visa was revoked. In early 2022, the Visa on Arrival was reintroduced and at time of writing 86 nationalities may enter Indonesia using this. Some countries in the South East Asian block may now obtain the free visa. Foreign citizens that are married to Indonesian citizens and have their marriage certification registered within Indonesia may apply for a Spouse KITAS. For successful visa applications, we require documents regarding official marriage registration, as well as the standard documents required for the administrative processing.
The Spouse KITAS has a validity of one year and it can be renewed. The principal applicant may also convert the KITAS to a KITAP after it has remained valid for 2 consecutive years. The Spouse KITAP has a validity of 5 years and is a very popular choice for expatriates as they no longer need to be concerned by their visa expiration date every year. In November 2022, the Multiple Entry Business Visa came back after a 2-year postponement due to the Covid pandemic. The visa is well received and one of the our most popular visa services.
The Multiple Entry Business Visa provides foreigners with a Multiple Entry Visa with a longevity of between 1 – 5 years.
The visa holder is able to then enter and leave as frequently as they wish, as long as they do not spend more than 60 days consecutively within the country.
This visa therefore is perfect for travellers that enter and exit Indonesia frequently.
In the past foreigners needed to travel to a foreign country to collect their visa, but thankfully now, all visas are processed using an electronic Visa (e-visa).

The price for a Jakarta visa may vary based on the type of visa you choose for your arrival. If you are coming to Jakarta for tourism purposes (which is less than 60 days), you can use a Visa on Arrival. Please note that not all countries can use the Visa on Arrival. Visa extensions depend on what type of visa you are using. If you are using a Visa on Arrival, you may extend 1 time for an additional 30 days. If you are using a Single Entry Visa, you can extend 2 times, 60 days each time.
